I guess the first thing most people hone in on ...is the word, 'wrong'.

Whether it was a teacher talking to you, a parent, or a friend ...you may have heard, "You did it wrong!"

Did you hate hearing that ...or did you welcome the statement, eagerly awaiting the person to show you how to do it right??

You could say the teacher, parent, or friend should not have used the word, 'wrong' ...but, instead used a clever way to show you, or allow you to discover it yourself.

But, I find little hope in thinking we should just try to eliminate the use of the word, 'wrong'.  I would rather aspire to a hope of eliminating swearing, but that is equally unreasonable.  Why would I hope to minimize something that is so ingrained in our society that it is gaining ground in popularity?  I can choose a different path for myself, and even encourage others not to swear ...but, I should not deceive myself with unreal expectations for others.  Movies are glamorizing the use of bad language.  People don't think it's bad. Maybe I should try to find a cure for cancer ...we agree that's bad, and I'd likely have more success with something we agree upon.

Several centuries ago, the ruling class awaited word from some daring sailors.  Many people believed our Earth was like a dish, not a globe.  Instead of picturing Atlas holding up a globe, imagine a clumsy waiter carrying soup on a platter.  We'd have not only colossal storms on the sea ...we'd eventually have no oceans at all.  Evolution would have to call to the waiter, to order a new plate of soup.

Less centuries ago than the flat-earthers, the elite civilized people believed that tomatoes were poisonous.  But, the common people were putting the prolific fruit in just about everything ...as well as eating it raw.  So, you could say that theory was proven wrong.

And I'm thankful for that, as some of my favorite dishes have tomato paste. (An additional note: scientists agree it is definitely a fruit, but in 1893, the Supreme Court of the United States classified the tomato as a vegetable. But, on a different note, the courts have balanced it out ...making many fruity decisions in recent years.)

Don't ask me to define civilized, but among that group we have people today who don't believe anyone has ever landed on ...nor walked on the moon.

There are things we can believe can be fairly accurately proven, and there are things that can not be.

That aside, we don't seem to often care what data there is to scientifically back a statement ...because we feel our ideas are supreme.  I know data can be skewed, twisted, and manipulated ...but, some facts stand clearer than others, and not just because a select group of highly-esteemed  and respected authorities say so.

When data is provided to disprove something, let us not be unmoved.  And let's a least move forward in a polite manner. When attempting to solve a problem, let's listen to the other person's data and argument ...and be ready to provide our own.
Name-calling, insulting, and belittling may be an emotional boost, but it does little to advance the discussion.  Restating a conclusion with cursing does not add accuracy to facts.

I don't know what comes first ...being detached from reality, or being unmoved by it.

I guess, it could be said they go hand-in-hand.  It doesn't matter so much which comes first, whether one leads to another, or if the process is reversed.

There are certain things that may benefit, in the short term, by being detached.  A person in shock often goes through this ...and it helps the person survive.  Though they will likely soon need treatment.

And there are situations that benefit from being unmoved.  If someone is trying to provoke violence, I believe it is best to try to not be moved to that point, even when what they are saying makes you angry.  If something must be done, it should not be decided upon out of anger.  Anger clouds good judgment.

But, as usual, it may be that I'm speaking of something else. Think of the atheist, the agnostic, and the philosopher.  One may be detached, another unmoving, and still another moving in a direction that only leads to more detachment and confusion.

I think I'd prefer to talk with the philosopher ...as he may be still attempting to at least reason it out.  He may reason it out that he is an atheist, or an agnostic ...but, he may  still be talking to you.

Usually, I feel, when someone says they are an atheist, or an agnostic ...they are on most occasions saying they don't want to talk about it.  It's like a conversation stopper.  I've known people to begin political conversations ...only to say they hate talking about politics when I give my point of view.  I take that as not hating to talk about politics, but rather hating for me to talk about politics.

I find the same is true for those people who make the first comment, then say they don't like to talk about God.

But, if you are still there ...we are about to. That is, I am about to talk about God.

The philosopher may conclude God doesn't exist ...but, with that, he'd have to say he doesn't either.

A philosopher follows logic ...and we can't logically exist.

But, not everyone reasons like a philosopher.  I worked in a Mental Institution ...and I've witnessed that the mentally ill often form their own reality.

People who don't believe in any Supreme Being ...well, I've heard it said that they believe Christians do the same thing.

Of course, this is one of those examples that cannot be proven ...except for when it's too late.

So, those who don't agree with my belief system, may say that I just follow those beliefs which I find convenience in. And they would say my beliefs are just my opinion of what is true.

So, they would say it is my opinion when I say that God created the world, and I did not.

But, I did not create the Bible in my mind ...nor do I believe others did.  I discerned that in scientific terms, neither evolution nor God makes sense.  And in scientific terms, neither could we exist. So, we have to think outside of scientific terms ...and evolution cannot.

I believe in good and bad ...and I believe in love.  And love is not confined to my experiences, though I do believe I've experienced a large enough portion of love to be able to mention its existence.

And I believe there are things so bad, that they are evil.  I realize that anyone can do really bad things ...but, to persist and commit to it is another issue altogether.

I do not see how evolution can even have the discussion of good and bad.  With 'survival of the fittest' ...the evil may appear good to others who aspire to bad, but by definition the evil has to affect select others very badly.

Then again, to define bad, may be as difficult as defining wrong. Yet, I do not define either ...the Bible does, and that is where I put what is called my trust.

A Supreme Being ...is usually referred to as being supreme in power.  And that is only comforting to me when the most powerful is also loving and righteous. Of course, to be righteous, that would require supreme knowledge ...and to be righteous to everyone would require for the Supreme Being to be present everywhere always.

Yes, you may have heard of the terms: omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.  So, what Persons can be said to have these characteristics??

God ...our Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

In perfect harmony ...the three Persons, all One.
